Our handmade mattresses come with a variety of (warranty and mattress care advice) guarantees depending on the product that you buy. However what’s crucial to us is that you know that when you become a customer of ours at Feather & Springs that you can always ask us if you have an enquiry or an issue with your mattress.
In order to get the best out of your new mattress we would advise you to do the following;
Cleaning
We recommend that you vacuum your mattress every couple of months to prevent the build up of dust. Take care not to damage the outer surface of the mattress as this can be fairly delicate. To remove any spills or stains, use a very mild detergent to wipe and do not soak the mattress.
Settling
Allowing your new Feather and Springs mattress to settle is always advised. You should give the fillings time to settle . You can sleep on the mattress while this happens, however do not worry if your mattress feels slightly different after your first few nights.
Regular airing
When you remove the bed linen for washing, this is the perfect time to air your mattress for an hour or more. Remove all bed linen, including duvets and pillows to ensure it is completely open to the air. You can open a window to speed things up if needs be.
Protect your mattress
A mattress protector is designed to keep your mattress from dirt, dust, spills and stains.
As you cannot wash your mattress, a protector can be easily removed and cleaned regularly, keeping your mattress clean and fresh.
Do not bend or fold your mattress
This can cause damage to the internal construction of your specially crafted mattress, and this will reduce the quality of the support and comfort.
